TFC Club Guidelnes
September 7, 2007

Dear Coach, Manager, Parents and Players,

The Triangle Futbol Club is very proud to have a reputation as a professionally operated and managed soccer club. The following guidelines have been adopted to ensure the safety, enjoyment, and smooth operation of teams in training, matches, and tournaments:

Training

Players are expected to:

·        attend all scheduled training sessions,

·        arrive at the field ten minutes prior to practice time,

·        wear the official TFC training shirts per coaches’ instructions,

·        come with a properly inflated soccer ball,

·        wear shin-guards,

·        bring plenty of water,

·        notify the coach ahead of time if they expect to arrive late, leave early,  or miss a training session.

Parents are expected to:

·        drop off and pick up players on time

·        refrain from any involvement in the training sessions unless invited by the coach

·        make an appointment if a discussion with the coach regarding player development, playing time, or other team matters is desired. Approaching a coach unexpectedly on the sideline will result in a suggestion by the coach that a time be scheduled for an agreed to time and location.

Matches and Tournaments

Players are expected to:

·        attend all scheduled matches and tournaments,

·        arrive at the field 1 hour before kickoff,

·        arrive dressed in uniform shorts and training shirts per coaches’ instructions,

·        bring with them both navy and white jerseys, socks, and shorts, as well as a properly inflated ball, water, and shin guards,

·        warm up with their teammates and coaches,

·        notify the coach ahead of time if they expect to arrive late, leave early,  or miss a match or tournament,

·        treat coaches, teammates, opponents, spectators, and officials respectfully at all times.

Parents are expected to:

·        ensure players arrive on time,

·        refrain from any instruction of the players during the game. The parents’ role is strictly encouragement – no coaching.

·        limit interaction with their player to before warm-ups and after post-match team meetings,

·        refrain from making any comments to the match officials. The referees and linesmen should always be dealt with in a professional and courteous manner.

·        refrain from approaching the coach after a match for discussions about playing time, playing position etc. Conferences should be scheduled for another time.

·        behave according to league and tournament rules.

Out-of-Town Tournaments

In addition, the following guidelines have been established for out-of-town tournaments:

·        An itinerary should be given to all the players by the coach or manager before departure to any out of town tournament.

·        In order to reduce costs, it is strongly encouraged that players travel together and share rooms.

·        Parents are not required to attend tournaments with their children and the team should ensure adequate supervision and chaperones to ensure the safety and well being of the players.

·        Players are required to meet at a designated area at a designated time as specified by the coach or manager to do any team related activities such as meals, meetings, etc.

·        Using the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, exercise equipment, is allowed only  with permission of the coach.

·        Players should never leave the hotel without permission of the coach, even if leaving with their parents. The coach must know the whereabouts of all players at all times.

·        Every person associated with the Triangle Futbol Club must follow the rules of the hotel in which they are staying.

·        Players may not run around in the hotel, play soccer in the hotel hallways, or walk barefoot or shirtless.

·        If the tournament has both male and female teams, casual association during free time will be allowed in public areas, but absolutely no player will enter the rooms of players of the opposite sex.

Our club maintains a national reputation of excellence and these guidelines have been established to make our environment more professional, enjoyable and safe for everyone.

Please feel free to discuss any concerns or ideas with the club staff.

Sincerely,

TFC Board of Directors
