 What is the Super Y League?

The Super Y-League is a national system designed for talented youth players destined for college, professional or international careers.  The league is a perfect complement to the Triangle Futbol Club vision of providing superior training and highly competitive games for elite players. Which Clubs compete in the Super Y League?

Over 100 clubs throughout North America compete annually for a National Championship. This year our club will be in the Mid-Atlantic Division which is comprised of the following clubs:  FASA Elite (Fredericksburg), Northern Virginia Majestics and Royals, Real Maryland FC, Virginia Alliance, Washington FC.

When does the Super Y-League Season run?

The season consists of approximately 8-12 games.  The majority of games are played during the summer (June-August).  The National Finals are held in December at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.  The Super 20 Men and Women Finals are held in July at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. 

What are the age brackets for the Super Y-League?

The Super Y-League uses the same USYSA age brackets (Aug 1st to July 31st). The age bracket you participate in now is the same age bracket in which you would play.  For example, if you currently play U14 you should play for the U14 Super Y team.   TFC will compete in the U14 and U20 Boys and Girls age groups.  Players in the U13 age groups are encouraged to participate by playing “up”.  Players in the U15-U17 age groups interested in Super 20s are by invite only based on level of play but if you are interested please contact Pete Sadin – psadin@trianglefc.org

Where will the team’s practice and play games?

Training and games will generally take place at WakeMed Soccer Park, Cedar Fork District Park, Middle Creek Park or other available facilities.  Practice is usually 2 times per week depending upon game schedules.   Games may be scheduled during a weekday or on weekends.

How many players will be selected for each Super Y-League team?

Depending on quality each age group will carry between 20-30 players.  A maximum of 18 players may be selected for the game day roster. 

What uniforms will the Super Y-League teams use?

The Triangle Futbol Club will be providing a SYL jersey, 1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of socks. 

How will transportation/lodging to away games be coordinated?
Transportation to away games will be the responsibility of the parent.  The TFC Coaching staff will determine travel methods for each away game.   Parents and teams will be responsible for all fees associated with bus/van rentals.  The SYL Director will work with Team Managers to secure hotels for the away matches.  The team manager will organize rooming lists and payment for hotels.  The teams will cover hotels and meals for the coaches

How much is the Super Y-League fee?

The fee for U14s is $400 which includes uniforms, coaching fees, referee fees, administration costs, insurance, field rentals, and operational expenses.  Travel expenses are not included in the fee. Coach’s travel to away games is also not included. 

Super 20 Fees are $230 which includes uniforms, coaching fees, referee fees, administration costs, insurance, field rentals, and operational expenses.  Travel expenses are not included in the fee.  Coach’s travel to away games is also not included.

When are tryouts?

There are no official tryout dates set up.  Players from outside the club need to register online and will be contacted about a tryout date.  Players currently registered with TFC will also need to register online and will be notified of their selection to the team. 

Tryouts for Super 20’s are by invitation only.  Players that are interested in playing Super 20 Men or Women must complete the online registration form and the TFC Coaching staff will invite you in to train in May.  Current U15-U18 players are eligible for Super 20s and invited only based on level of play.  You must be born on or after 1/1/93 to be eligible for Super 20’s.

What happens once I’m selected?

Once selected to a U14 team, you will be asked to accept your position and provide a payment of $200 which is non-refundable.  The additional $200 payment is due May 1^st. 

Once selected to a U20 team, you will be asked to accept your position and provide the full fee of $230 by April 1^st.
